 UK continues to have restrictive views on environmental protection in relation to warfare.


It has been over a decade since the UK has participated in a war. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is reluctant to make enforced environmental protection laws in specific relation to warfare impacts due to the fact it might negatively impact their military; if the government were to implement even greater protection policies it might decrease funding for their national security. The United Kingdom is primarily concerned about national security and supporting the protection of their country, knowing that war is unpredictable and if they were to apply more protection of wildlife in regards to the impacts of war they could waste money since the UK might not participate in a war for another few years or even decades. The UK plans to spend 5% of their GDP on national security by 2035. However the UK does plan on implementing some strategies of protection like adding protection zones during armed conflict to shield wildlife from damage. The UK also aims to apply relief and assistance to harmed areas if needed but the overall policy is considered a soft policy which means they don’t have many regulations. 


Other countries are particularly opposed to the United Kingdom's stance on environmental conservation and believe the UK is “going backwards” and is extremely problematic. The UK does not plan on changing their environmental protection plan even though other countries are openly against the UK’s attitude to the topic.

A recent development of a terrorist attack in Germany has become a serious breach in the national security of both east and west Germany.  While an exceeding amount of officials in West Germany express sympathy and cooperation for the people of East Germany, such as Herbert Wehner, who plans to aid the bedfast state, a select powerful few seem to have grudges against their eastern brothers.  “They can’t keep failing forever,” says a West German official.   “We are the better Germany” Willi Stoph, prime minister of East Germany discusses how they are open to all diplomatic discussion. The East Germany Prime Minister is willing to work with the West Germany Prime Minister and is stating that this is the time to work together to improve the state of foreign diplomacy. East Germany officials have all stated that the economy of the east is thriving and has never been better.
